How I Became A Better StarCraft 2 Player With A StarCraft 2 Terran Guide

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

The Terran are the human race in the new RTS game StarCraft 2. They are one of three races useablein the game. Here are three tips that I have found proven useful from a StarCraft 2 Terran guide.

1) Learn how to fight effectively against any race. Knowing how to play as the Terran versus any other race is essential to winning . Always know what weak points that each race has and seek out ones you can cash in on . Also know what strengths each race has versus yourweaknesses  as the Terran so that you can be prepared to defend against it when they try to take advantage of it.

2) Learn how to micro and macro manage your troops . Micro management can be the hardest thing to learn for most players in StarCraft 2. In a nut shell, micro management is using the individual abilities of your units. For instance if your unit has an ability to teleport or jump you could use the teleport or jump ability and flank your enemy while you have another squad attack from the front and hold the attention of their troops.

3) Know the best build orders to your most powerful units. For the Terrans one of the best units to build up in the early stages of the game is the reaver. They are a powerful unit to utilize use in an offensive rush and are excellent for hit and run tactics that are used to take out the enemy’s workers . They also make a great scouting unit because they have the ability to jump over ledges instead of having to go on the normal ground unit path .

These are some very basic tips but they all need to be mastered if you want to become the best StarCraft 2 player that you can be. Micro management alone is one of the biggest strong points that any professional gamer has up their sleeve and if you want to be able to compete on the leader boards then you definitely need to be able to learn it.

There are many StarCraft 2 Terran guides out there for players to purchase , both physical guides and digital guides. I recommend you go with a digital guide if only for the reason that they are constantly updated for free. Games like StarCraft 2 are always changing , and a physical guide will most likely never be updated.
