Personally, I think gothic scary outfits are perfect for Halloween and there are many to choose from. If you want to appear dark and mysterious, a gothic outfit will serve you very well. Why not drop by my gothic Halloween costume website and check out the amazing costumes.

The gothic subculture started in the early 80s in the UK. It was an offshoot of the post punk genre. Although the goth look has certain characteristics. It’s also very individual and there are many different styles. One of the main characteristics of the goth look is the color black. There are also Victorian, Edwardian, Elizabethan and medieval aspects to it. The use of velvet, lace, leather and pvc is very characteristic. A lot of people tend to go for the more punkish androgynous look.

If you like the Victorian appearance, the gothic vampire theme is perfect. Why not model you vampire look on the Victorian costumes worn by Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in the film Interview With A Vampire. Be sure to have a pair of vampire fangs to go with the costume. For females, the black dresses with maroon and purple accents look amazing. Examples are Elvira Mistress of the Dark and Morticia from the Addams Family.

Or how about a burlesque Victorian vampire costume? This costume definitely has a bite! Burlesque has become a fashionable entertainment form again – especially the dancing. Burlesque dancing is enormously sexy and seductive including an element of teasing with stripping off items such as gloves or stockings. You may be surprised to know that one type of burlesque dancing is pole dancing.

Some other classic gothic costumes are zombies, witches and devils – these are very scary! Make sure you check out my gothic Halloween costume site for some great ideas.
